Sigma
Electronics, Inc. was established as a
custom design and manufacturing company by Dan
Japhet, John Brooks, and Arthur Epley after purchasing
the transformer division of Datatex, Inc. in October,
1981. Datatex, renamed after originally being
part of Geospace, started in the custom transformer
business in 1965. After all of the years and changes,
an abundance of knowledge of custom transformers
was brought together to form Sigma. Sigma’s
present facility was built in 1982 to house the
newly established company. Sigma quickly gained
a strong customer base and expanded on its presence
in the highly specialized custom transformer field.
Sigma
enjoys a reputation for quality and service, providing
its customers with innovative solutions to challenging
transformer problems. Designing to customer specifications,
building to prints, and duplicating existing units
are all part of the work provided by our engineering
staff. Quality standards are rigorously enforced
with standards, which are traceable to the United
State Bureau of Standards.
Sigma’s
engineering will be happy to work with your staff
on new applications – from designing, engineering
and manufacturing, through final testing –
to ensure that you have the custom units needed
to meet your exact requirements. We have computerized
design programs, which optimize the time required
to formulate a design proposal based on your specifications.
We can also quote and build to your print, as
well as duplicate an existing unit and rework
any problems you may have.
“Custom” does not mean
we produce only small quantities. Our modern manufacturing
facilities are equipped for high volume as well
as small-specialized jobs, all at premium quality.
With well-trained people who care, and a management
team with many years of experience in all facets
of custom transformer work, Sigma
provides economical answers to your transformer
needs. We also have a Mexico based manufacturing
facility. This added facility widens our capabilities
while freeing up time in our main headquarters.
We can build high volume production runs there,
with all the quality and high standards our Houston
facility has built our reputation on.
At Sigma,
we are constantly changing and adapting to the
times to give Sigma a wider range of capabilities
and we appreciate any opportunity to review your
unit requirements. We will give all inquiries
the same attention and make every customer know
their value to Sigma.
